Neither. As the global environment becomes multipolar, the free market politics of the last four decades will recede and be replaced by controlled markets and heavy state intervention as is typical in Asia today. Corporate welfare thus will be expanded to new levels, by both Democrats and Republicans trying to outcompete with China and the German-led E.U.
