The license fee is £145 a year, or £12.13 per month, with everyone who has a tv which isn't just using it for gaming expected to pay it. On the Gestapo line, for years there have been adverts not dissimilar to this or this (hardly contemporary, but only examples I can find on Youtube), but after receiving criticism and creating resentment it seems this year they've decided to change tack.
