Tell them to pound sand. I don't even believe in the brainwashing drug called Ritilan.

Ritalin works.  It would work on anybody, even those without any problem.  Illegal sales of ritalin are a growing problem on college campuses.

That is the problem.  You give it to a kid, and his grades go up.  So some people think that supports the diagnosis of ADD or whatever.  Problem is any person who took the drug would see similar benefits.

Ritalin is a stimulant, but for some reason, it has opposite effects on those with ADD.

Ritalin works mainly on one portion of the brain.  (I forget which.)  When this area is stimulated it increases the ability to focus on a task and increases memory retention.  

Kids with ADD have difficulty focusing on one task.  This is why Ritalin helps them.


Part of my techer training included reading a primer on the common learning disabilities and their treatments.
