I'm assuming this a freak stage accident involving props, because this seems too bizarre a target.

Link.

Edit: Sources saying multiple people dead, but a website called "Stuffz.NZ" doesn't seem credible to me. Maybe I'm just ignorant of Kiwi media. NBC has reported it on air and the term "multiple casualties" was used. Scary stuff.

Edit Edit: So Billboard is confirming multiple casualties, Fox is reporting it on air now. If this was a fireworks fiasco, Grande would have possibly been injured but she's confirmed to be unharmed.

Oh wow, I really hope this is an accident.
Me too. The thought of pre-teen girls being targeted for terror is sickening.

Fox hasn't mentioned a nail bomb. They've been saying that there was a bang and that it might have caused a stampede. That is almost equally terrifying.

I doubt it was that, but it reminds me of an incident that occurred in Cincinnati before a Who concert in the 70's.
From the pics on twitter it wasn't like that at all.  This sadly definitely was a bomb.

And British Transport Police are confirming that a blast occurred in the foyer area of the arena.
My initial hunch, due to the lack of smoke in all of the videos I've seen, was that a speaker blew. But I just spoke to my best friend (a musician with a lot of experiences with amps) and he told me that he's blown multiple speakers but has never seen one literally explode and send shrapnel.

Chris Matthews is saying it might have been a suicide bomber. The guy he is interviewing just said "then if it is a suicide bombing that means it might have been terrorism." WTF?

If this was an attack, I'm surprised that it occurred at the end of the concert, as is being reported.
I'd imagine the attacker wanted to strike as people were filing out in mass after the show. It not only would wreak havoc around the blast zone but spark a potential stampede. These are very nefarious and evil people (regardless of who is responsible) and I have no doubt that they planned for such an eventuality.
