Things like this happen sometimes, guys. It's just another part of life now-- no need for hysteria.
Sometimes? There are more attacks now then I ever could remember. Less complicated and often less deadly, but more frequent. And we all know who keeps committing them and why they're doing it.

In the UK, terrorist attacks are much less common than they once were. The IRA incidents in the 70s, 80s and the early 90s, just in England and NI, were probably more regular than Islamic terrorist incidents in the western world.
The IRA (not the PIRA though IIRC) called ahead. Killing civilians wasn't the end in itself unlike with this latest phenomenon. Even Al Qaida is against some of the ISIS inspired killing!

Just keep this civilized, guys (adressed to no one in particular)
If that post came across aggressive, the error was in the syntax-there was no hint of anger in that post, but rather bemusement.

No, there wasn't this nihilistic element, but the intention of some specific incidents was often just to kill civilians. Long ago and far away now, of course.
That incident came to mind. Also Omagh, if I'm not mistaken (or was there a warning attempt?)

No we didn't. We come from outer space because we were put in volcanoes where our spirits were held prisoner. Duh.
