Making sure to finish charging all my stuff, I fully charged up to portable phone chargers and my laptop battery, finishing charging my phone

Good idea. When Hermonie hit Tally, I did not do this, and had to use outlets behind a CVS. I also had almost no money ($18), food, or gas, and an increasingly erratic roommate to deal with for three horrid days as I sweated and chain smoked for three solid days.

Jesus Christ, stay safe LibRep! The storm was a total flop in Boynton from what I've heard. Apparently my parents and brothers went home from my aunts house at around 10:00 PM, having never lost power and having no damage beyond a palm frond in the pool and leaves all over the place. Grandma's good too.

OK, I don't want to start another panic, but anyone has heard from Virginia? She hasn't posted in a week, and I think that coincided to when Matthew hit.

I've spoke with Bacon King on this and he checked info her county and there were no fatalities other than some old man, so she's just probably without internet.

Oh, good to know. Hopefully she's not dealing with serious material damage either.

Hopefully. We just have to wait.
If the power outages from Matthew are as bad as the outages caused by Hermonie here in Tallahassee, than she'll probably be offline for a few more days.

Trump is coming to Tally, and I'm looking forward to that. I'm also looking forward to putting the nasty nightmare of last night beyond me. Fooled around with a mind altering substance, got burned. Praise God I didn't get out on the streets, it'd probably end up with me getting arrested screaming naked at a fire hydrant.

Went to the Trump rally. Waited two hours in traffic on I-10 and barely moved a mile. A state trooper pulled along the side of the road and told us that they were not accepting any more traffic, so I got into the other lane and pulled off at the exit to turn around (the next exit is 25 miles east and I already thought I wasted enough time). Long story short, I saw people parking on the round-about exit's swale, so I joined then. Ran into some Johnson/Weld people that included a friend I hadn't seen in five years. We went into the rally (about ~3,000 people in a cow field) but split up because they were their to cause trouble and protest. I did invite him and his group of libertarian friends to come over and take part in the libertarian ritual of smoking the peace pipe though.

Long story short, I saw people parking on the round-about exit's swale, so I joined then. Ran into some Johnson/Weld people that included a friend I hadn't seen in five years. Were they successful in their mission to cause trouble?
Not really. One lady yelled at them to take off their masks (two wore Hillary/Trump creepy Halloween masks) and the only response they could muster was to mutter "bitch" or something, and another group of older men started giving them a hard time about Johnson being weak on "teh Muslims" while one yelled "where's your joints?" (ironically they did sneak some in, but I left when they lit up because the field was teeming with state troopers). It was rather pitiful, and I expected more of the, Johnson/Weld people, as libertarians are very creative when it comes to protesting. For example, I still see faded, rotting Ron Paul '08 signs nailed ten feet high on a telephone poll in certain areas. Other famous examples of libertarian expressions of dissent include the LNC stripper and that elector from VA getting picked by Nixon only to cast the only electoral votes the Libertarian Party probably will ever receive.

Edit: Also, should note that my friend and everyone else in his group were blessed with a sharp wit, a trait that I find fairly common among libertarians and other young political radicals of any stripe. But their attempts to display it were very rigid and awkward, practically forced. Their delivery sounded weak and without confidence. If you are going to walk around a Trump rally in a Johnson/Weld shirt and a Trump mask on your face yelling "My daughter is so hot!" like an obnoxious college student, then have the youthful arrogance and confidence that should accompany it. Don't embarrassingly slink away because one old woman decked head to toe in red, white, and blue garb said "you look stupid."

Also, former Libertarian Presidential candidate Kevin McCormick followed me on Twitter. He doesn't follow many people (most people who follow me also have 20,000 other feeds to see).

So...at work today, my boss made it public who he is voting for, my boss is Chinese and is voting for TRUMP and basically called us Hillary and Stein supporters idiots...fun day.
I noticed at the Trump rally that the demographics were a bit interesting. Yes, the crowd of 3,000-4,000 people was overwhelmingly white and probably 60% female. Of the whites, 55% were over 50, and about 45% over 50. There were a good number of frat-bros/sorority girls there, all of whom were white. There were probably 50-60 black supporters there, which proportionally is tiny, yet ironically also the largest group of black Republicans I've ever seen at one gathering. There were a number of Asian families that came together as a group-I actually recognized this one guy and his family as I seem to see them every time I go to Walmart.

This is the scary part-I did not see one single Latino in the crowd at the rally or in the crowd of 20 protesters. In fact, Tallahassee is somewhat of a culture shock to me because there really isn't a significant discernible Latino population period, inside and outside of the college town.

So while I was at my friend's apartment upstairs, Tim Kaine apparently drove by building and had a rally at FSU's Oglesby Union, which is in eyesight of where I live. Ironically, I think I might have seen the tail end of his motorcade go by a few hours back.

I mailed in my first presidential ballot last night.  Straight D, except I voted for a Libertarian in some irrelevant local election that gives you two votes (and only one Democrat was running).

Apparently my district is so gerrymandered for the Rs locally that the Republicans running for state House and Senate were unopposed, but somehow I got drawn out of Virginia Foxx's House district into George Holding's current district, which is much farther away.
I'm actually in Corrine Brown (soon to be Al Lawson's) Jacksonville based district even though I live in Tallahassee thanks to the redistricting that forced Gwen Graham out of Congress. Interestingly enough, I'm pretty sure Al Lawson is from Tallahassee as well, which means that this Jacksonville anchored district is going to be represented by someone from these parts.

Just finished a five page essay in which I compare Bob Dylan's lyrics to the paintings of Van Gogh and Munch. I'm actually rather pleased how it turned out. I put in a bit more effort than I usually would for this class because I finally had the opportunity to write about a topic of my choice, and thus, in my control.

Joe Biden is coming to FAMU tomorrow. I'm going to class, then I'm going to the Biden rally with my Trump sign (with some alterations, mainly the "Trump voters heart Biden" or something saccharine or superficially pleasant) and try and get a hand shake on the rope line.

I'm on the Trump Train full throttle, but the thought of milquetoast Mike replacing Uncle Joe is a crime. You literally have to be heartless to not love the guy. Arguably the most high ranking genuine person in the system which is otherwise rancid.

That's pretty cool.  I think your chances of meeting him would be a lot better if you didn't bring the sign, but hey, see if you can get a selfie.
I might just make a homemade thing instead of the literal Trump sign, because I don't want to cause a stir if I get close enough for a handshake. Good point.

I wonder if we ever see him again, given that cheering Clinton accounted for like 98% of his activity here.
He's gone. I doubt he'll never show his face again on here. And he shouldn't.

Anyone who actually leaves the country over the election of anyone not named David Duke honestly is a huge overreacting pussy. Being my friend on Atlas or real life will not spare that judgement. If you leave the literal country over this, then I hope you stay in Canada.

FWIW, I apologize to Scott, a longtime friend who I consider one of my closest here. The sentiment for those who choose to leave solely over the Trumpocolypse, frankly, remains in place. The right-wing's reaction to Obama was bad, but the general mood among some of my more leftist friends IRL is unacceptable and greatly disheartening if we want to have a tradition of democratic government.

So....there is this kid in my town driving up and down for the last week with TRUMP stickers all over his truck and a Confederate flag, going around and attacking black people with a wrench and harassing people...

Welcome to TRUMP's Amerikkka!

Oh God those guys literally look like the worst kind of young white male Trump supporters. The kind who wear sleeveless "Make America Great Again" shirts, try and rush for a frat but get rejected because they have a complete lack of discipline and only want to party, and down a Natty Ice before class. We have as many of them at TCC as we do (very, very vocally upset) BLM supporters on campus and I genuinely think there can be a problem.

This is the only instance of post-election tension I've really witnessed outside of Facebook and my earlier experience with the Indian kid.

Today, while driving down Appleyard towards TCC, a woman in the car behind me began honking at me repeatedly and followed me for a solid five minutes flipping me off with both hands. I deduced that it can only be about the Trump/Pence sticker since I literally retraced my steps and couldn't think of anything I've done while driving to piss her off. She was also yelling but her window was up and I couldn't hear what she was saying.

When I pulled into TCC and she was still behind me, I knew I had a problem. When she followed me down the same parking lot lane, I really began to get nervous. As I mentioned, I had a drunk kid banging on my window but to me that was almost humorous. This was a bit more nerve wracking because I can't fight back or resist an angry black woman the same way I could a man for obvious reasons (and I've only won about 25% of the fights I've fought as it is anyway!) and I contemplated calling 9/11.

When she was still behind me after ten trips up and down the parking lot unable to find a parking space, I knew I was in actual trouble. So when she lifted both her hands to flip me off again (using her knee to keep beeping on the horn) I saw an opportunity and slammed on the breaks as hard as I could. That got her off my tail.

Floridians really are as crazy as Atlas describes us. I'm not defending this place anymore based on what I and LibertarianRepublican experienced in the last week.

So I haven't been on speaking terms with most of my family in the last ten days aside from an emergency return call to my Grandma (who called me crying thinking she was partially to blame for the situation, which I had to resolve since she is the one person who has never failed me) and apparently I never informed my parents that I'll be coming home for a week tomorrow. I'm assuming they are expecting me.

Anyway, they aired some very old and very tired allegations about my health that resulted in the ongoing break. If I don't get an apology the moment I walk through the door tomorrow, I'm going to start bringing up their dirty laundry at the Thanksgiving table. There's a lot of puss under some of my scabs and my mother knows that. Which is why she's so effective at bringing them up at moments of extreme tension to draw an overreaction from me and make me the bad guy.

I made the drive from Tallahassee to South Florida in a five and a half hours (usually it takes seven) yet the trip was more grueling than any of the previous ones for some reason.
