Nominate one or two, I'll do a couple of rounds of polls if there is interest.
What musical artists/bands will still be talked about, listened to and remembered at the beginning of the next century? I'll toss in the obvious top handful so nobody has to waste their pick(s) on the Beatles or Elvis.
Pre-nominated list:
Beatles
Elvis
Robert Johnson
Michael Jackson
Bob Dylan
My picks are:
The Who
The Ramones
(and man this is tough....I sat here thinking about whether to include Robert Zimmerman in the pre-nom list or not for 5 minutes.)
Of course Dylan will be remembered in 100 years. I'd imagine The Rolling Stones would also be on that list, as would the Grateful Dead (not necessarily for their music as much as their impact on the jam band revival that is underway).
