Prefer that my parents and grandparents not be rendered dead or sterile by nuclear war so as to prevent my birth, so Eisenhower.

Oh please, I know we like making Ike out to be a brilliant moderate to show how far the the current GOP was but JFK was about 100 times better than Ike.

Eisenhower sucked on civil rights, he only sent troops to little rock when his back was literally up against the wall. Ike did very little on civil rights, and actually held rather racist views whilst JFK was more liberal. Course Ike did more in domestic policy, he served for 8 years.

In regards to foreign policy can we stop making Ike out to be some cold war hippie-this is a guy who almost used nuclear weapons to protect a couple of rocks in Taiwan. Heck Ike launched the coup in Iran in 1953 which ultimately caused the whole sh**t storm in the reason (ike didn't know that though). Ike was also a shameless supporter of the CIA, and despite his military industrial speech i'd argue his actions merely sped up the cold war.

JFK did a great deal on foreign policy. Not only did he stand up for west berlin when it most needed it but he also helped to usher in a new relationship with Khrushchev. Everyone talks about Korea, when JFK passed the partial test treaty ban-the first of it's type in the cold war. He even began making moves towards an agreement with Cuba
...after bringing the world much closer to WWIII than Ike ever did.
