My younger brother left his treatment facility this morning and was last spotted nearly two hours away. Police have an APB on him, listing him as a runaway. I don't know how much more of his bullsh[INKS]t I can take, but please keep my mother and father in your prayers, and the same for Carl's missing friend.

Definitely our best wishes, Sanchez.
Thank you. I'm sure this will turn out alright in a few hours.

I believe Carl's friend has been found, but my thoughts are with you in the hopes that you will find your brother safe and sound.
I missed that until a few minutes ago, but I appreciate the kind words. I hope he gets caught by a particularly nasty cop though.

Update: Our belief is that he is attempting to join a halfway house in Fort Lauderdale. That is the best case. The worst case is that he is trying to use again, but in his phone call (when he was last seen or heard from) he promised to stay clean. My best friend, who lives near where he was last spotted, is also on the look out.

I'm worried but frankly I'm too angry at him to be upset. I am afraid the local news might air a report (which they tend to too), which would let him on to the fact that police are searching for him and drive him into hiding. If you are going to pray for anything, pray that the local news keeps their mouths shut. It would undermine our efforts.

Good news (kind of). My brother is with a unidentified friend and tried to go to a halfway house. Said he will call tommorow morning to "negotiate" the terms of his surrender. He wants to go to a halfway house, so at least he didn't run away to use again. I assume this will be resolved soon. Thanks for your prayers and kind words friends, I needed the support Smiley

If he's on the run is he really going to have time to watch local news?
Depends where he is. He might be at a friends house, but we don't know who the friend is.

Anyway, we heard from him today and he agreed to come back if he is taken out of the rehab and placed in a halfway house where is under lock and key as much. He sounded clean on the phone according to my mom, and my parents both agree that keeping in the rehab for what will be 18 months will just be too expensive and he doesn't want to stay that long anyway.

I'm feeling much better about this now.

Good (and bad) news: my brother is coming home. He has been a halfway house for the last three days but overstayed his welcome. The local news typically covers runaways but they didn't (thank God) cover him. The bad news is that the bastard who helped him "escape" smoked pot with him, and that will hinder our efforts to get him into another halfway house where we, you know, know where he is. The kid's mom helped my brother leave, which is the most insidious aspect of the story.

Anywho, he didn't call yesterday and I was beginning to give up hope. Praise God!
