I saw on Wikipedia that the Prime Minister attempted to form a government in exile from within the American embassy, which the State Department has denied.

Which Prime Minister, Yingluck or Niwatthamrong?

Either way, not letting her/him do that is a vaguely disappointing move (vaguely to the extent that I still think the Thaksinites are vaguely preferable to the military in the short term at least), but not really a surprising one.
I assumed Niwatthamrong. Has Yingluck been detained in all of this?

Strange. Perhaps an attempt on their lives?
