Big streaks of voting for the winner: Missouri (1904-2004), missing only 1956, and Ohio (1896-2016), missing only 1960. Showing how things can change, Ohio was off twice in the 1840s, voting Whig in 1844 and flipping Democratic in 1848.
Big streaks of voting for one party: Vermont for Republicans (1856-1988), missing only 1964 (making it 27 times in a row, 1856-1960), and Georgia for Democrats (1868-1960), not missing any.
When it comes to voting for a winner of a specific party, each side had three longstanding reliables, most of which aren't so much anymore. For the Democrats it was Texas (first broken in 1992, not regained), Florida (broken in 1960, 1992 & 2020) & Missouri (first broken in 2008), while for the Republicans it was California (broken in 1880 & 2000-present), Illinois (first broken in 2000, not regained) & Ohio (never broken).
As has already been stated, Biden's recent win is the first time a Democrat has won without any of those three states (Clinton won only Missouri in 1992, while Obama won only Florida in 2008 & 2012). While no Republican has gone zero-for-three, Bush & Trump won with just one (Ohio).
