Wow, all that and you forgot this.

Here is NYC mayor William Gaynor being shot at in 1910. He would die 3 years later from the bullet. Rushing to his aid from behind is one Robert Todd Lincoln.

This might be about the most dramatic pre-1963 shooting photograph.
