Unless Barbara Lee gets the nomination, there would be no point in having such a conservative VP.

I must have missed something. Why is Salazar a dissapointment?

That he seems to vote wrong a majority of the time on important votes?
Examples: Gonzales, Roberts nomination, Alito fillibuster, Rice, banruptcy bill, torture bill.

He was supposed to be a lot more reasonable than he turned out.  He represents Colorado, not Mississippi, so he doesn't need to be so crazy.
