It will eventually be here.

There was also a related vote on something from Senator Durbin that failed.

And both the Freepers and DUers are happy now. Think about it, opposition to this is actually something they can agree on.

I'm disappointed in Dayton, but he's leaving anyway. Hopefully Klobuchar is better.

Free Republic opposed this amendment? That's good to know, though a bit surprising. Do they have a libertarian streak to them? I always thought they were pretty socially conservative and pro-"law and order".

It's true, they mostly seem to be against it. I think about 8 years ago, FreeRepublic was somewhat libertarian. They got too caught up with Rove's crazy social issues and extreme anti-liberal propaganda.

Am I correct that this amendment already passed the House and that one more Yea vote would've sent this to the states?

If so, I oughta mail personal thank yous to Bennett and McConnell, and scathing denouncements to Feinstein and the other Dems (REID!) who've broken my heart.

Since she's certainly going to win with or without my vote, I've got to decide whether Feinstein deserves my vote in November. I already voted for one of the complete nobodies running against her in the primary.

I'm surprised the Republicans didn't hold the vote open until they could bribe enough people like they did for the Big Pharma Medicare giveaway in the House.

Somewhere around half of all Constitutional amendments grant more rights. Some are neutral. This amendment would have been the only active amendment taking away rights. The other such amendment, the 18th, was repealed by the 21st.
