Drudge Report:  Nagin Leads in Early Big Easy Returns.

Drudge is always wrong. Landreiu is up 53-47 with 179188 precincts reporting.

Mayoral race and 2 of the council seats have the incumbent narrowly trailing.

Mayor is currently Landrieu leading 51-49 with 220/442 precincts.

It's a close one.

Now Landreiu is 25,555-23,869. 52%-48%. I wonder if there's a lot of ballot stuffing going on.

I fear it is over:

Mayor, City of New Orleans
304 of 442 precincts reporting
Click here for Results by Precinct
29,297 48% "Mitch" Landrieu, D  -
31,175 52% C. Ray Nagin, D

Unless this is the "unfixed" version.

Council District A is also close, the Democratic challenger Midura might knock off the Republican incumbent Batt.

These people are to stupid. No wonder they stayed in their houses in a Category 4 hurricane.

You'd think that the Bush donor should be trailing.

The NOLA political machine has decided that Nagin has won. He's up 50,631-48,396 (51%-49%) with 374/442 (85%) of the precincts reporting.

I wonder if New Orleans Republicans broke for Nagin. Maybe they know he'll do a poor job of it and it gives them the perfect opportunity to beat up on an incompetent "Democrat". Couhig needs to get his head read; at least, Forman had the right intention but, at the end of the day, it wasn't enough for Mitch

Not Sad a good result for New Orleans but 52% have made their bed and, unfortunately, the other 48% are going to have to lie on it. New Orleans has, for want of more apt words, sh**t in its own nest

Dave

You mean like that Bush loving "Democrat" who won the primary in Texas because of Republicans? He just voted for the latest tax cut for the rich. Of course as I recall some fools on this forum call themselves "Democrats" and supported him.
