COVID-19 Megathread 5: The Trumps catch COVID-19

These awful numbers for the sunbelt states near the summer solstice kind of kills the hope that summer is automatically better.

To me, it suggests an alternative hypothesis: cases spike at times of the year when people stay indoors. Cases disappear at times of the year when people are happy to be outdoors. Those are different times in different places.

Cases are increasing in the bay area, which tends to have people happy to be outdoors this time of year.

The last 2 days each had the highest number of new cases since May 1, and I'm sure by far the highest if you exclude NY and NJ.

Amazing how 3 months into lockdown, California is clearly at its worst point with the number of new cases vastly increasing and hospitalization hitting a record high too.  Time for Newsom to lock things back down.

Now 6320 cases in California? Newsom really screwed up by rushing to open up too soon.

Well, we figured out how to prevent a second wave. Make sure that the first wave never goes away. Insert some Florida men meme with Trump and DeSantis.
