Paul is the only Republican to vote against Trump's terrible CIA pick. 14 freedom hating Democrats, King, and every other Republican vote in favor.

Out of curiosity, Paul's vote against confirmation for Pompeo was the first time a Senator voted against confirmation for a Cabinet (or "Cabinet level") pick from his own party since....when?  Did any Dems vote against any Obama Cabinet choices?  Any Republicans vote against any Bush Cabinet choices?

Sanders, Byrd, and Harkin voted against Geithner.

The last 3 Presidents had 10 withdrawn nominations between them, but Trump might not have any with 4 of his most controversial nominees (Mnuchin, Price, Sessions, and Devos) confirmed. There's still Puzder, Zinke, and Pruitt, among others left.

In any case, from a 2018-related point of view, I can understand Manchin and Heitkamp vote.

The WV Mountain Party will presumably attack Manchin a lot for voting for Pruitt.

Zinke has passed Cloture. His margin is 65-30 so far.

Dems voting Yes:

Bennet
Coons
Cortez-Masto
Donnelly
Feinstein
Heinrich
Heitkamp
Kaine
King
Manchin
McCaskill
Murphy
Tester
Udall
Warner

Feinstein really seems to love Trump's cabinet.

McCain is urging the Senate to block Haspel.

If Manchin supports and Paul and Collins oppose (along with McCain either opposing or absent), it falls short.

Maybe McCain could show up and vote (yeah, I know he's too ill). Sure if the other 99 Senators vote, it won't make a difference, but for 2 nominations so far this year another Republican was also absent, and Pence broke the resulting 49-49 tie.
