1789: First President elected.
1824: End of Democratic-Republican unity rule. First election that most states had a popular vote.
1860: First Republican party win. End of Whig party.
1896: End of close elections, Republican dominance.
1932: Democratic dominance
1968: Republican dominance
2004: America made a huge mistake. Not a watershed election like the previous ones.
