People were evenly divided on Bush's handling of the economy. They take a dim view of his handling of Iraq, with 44 percent approving and 54 percent disapproving, according to the poll of 1,001 adults. It was taken Jan. 3-5 and has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

This is the second time in two days you posted an article without bothering to read it.

Granted, the article is extremely misleading, greatly overstates the significance of the poll, and serves as a perfect example of why the AP is a liberal joke.

That's well outside the margin of error.

No, 49% is not outside the margin of error for 51%, and it's a poll of adults, not likely voters.

Another poll had 54%.

The Iraq 54-44 was outside the margin.

Anyways, if you pool the 48% and the 49% polls you get 48.5% with a MOE of 2%.
