Al, are you familiar with Bill Pryor? The Republicans made ridiculous claims of anti-Catholicism of the Democrats trying to keep him from his judicial seat when the reason was clearly he was extremist views. This sounds kind of similar to the ridiculous claims, although I suppose it might be different in the UK because of the whole Northern Ireland issue.

The best part is when they went on and on about how Senators Patrick Leahy and Ted Kennedy were anti-Catholic.
