Which is part of the reason I quit the GOP and joined the dems.

I liked the "midwestern/western/libertarain/secualar" style conservatives which used to have influence in the party.  The "southern/authoritarian/hyperfundementalist" type just disgusts me.

The Democratic leadership council

Essentially, a number of centrist Democratic pragmaitists somewhat similar to the "Rockefeller Republicans" of the 60's and 70's.
