Canada's in Afghanistan. Don't knock them.

We knock ourselves all the time.  I wouldn't worry about it. Wink

The only problem with Canada it that they have those disgusting, arrogant, people of French extraction, who wear berets and who post entirely too much on message boards.  French people, ick, ick, ick!  (Volrath ssssh!)  :-)

What the hell?!

I am Quebecois and I support Bush!

Must be lonely.

Not as bad as you would think. I'm not from Quebec really. My family is originally from here, and I attend college here at the moment, but until a couple of months ago I had never lived outside of Ontario.

My father worked for the Progressive Conservative Party my whole life, so I'm a natural ally of the Republicans. That's why I grew up in Ottawa, instead of in Quebec.

I think prior to the war in Iraq a poll was taken of the Anglophone provinces and a majority of those polled supported the war. Now, that has obviously changed, but when Americans see polls that say a majority of Canadians think America is evil, they need to consider that Quebec is the second most populous province in the country.

polls never showed that Canada supported the war in Iraq. Not in anglophone Canada and (obviously) not in Francophone Canada. I've talked to people who really hate Chretien, and I mention about him saying no to the war, and they always go "oh well, he did ONE good thing I guess".  I have never met any one in Canada who is pro-war, and no one who is pro-Bush. And if I do, I will alert CSIS imediately. LOL

You must move in extremely small circles, that's all I can say. I knew a bunch of people in Toronto(very left-wing city) that supported the war in Iraq, many of them went to York University(very left-wing school) with me.

And yes, as much as you may hate it, there was a poll done that showed PRIOR to the war that most Anglophone Canadians would support the U.S. if it went to war with Iraq. I saw it in National Review, if you would like to dig it up.
