I’m starting to feel cautious optimism.

Wow, what a night. I'm so relieved that PA did the right thing in both of the big statewide races. Things are looking good elsewhere in the Commonwealth, though it doesn't appear the legislature will be flipping.

With this, I am pleased to announce a new forumwide policy -- no one from outside of PA is allowed to comment on our elections anymore. Of course, I do not have the power to enforce this so it is merely ceremonial, but last night proved that all the dooming was coming from out of state folks who know nothing about our electorate.

Flipping the PA House is HUGE. The Senate will be pretty tight as well.

The NYT still doesn't have PA-12 called, what gives? There can't be that much vote left in Westmoreland.

At this point, is there a chance Democrats hold the House? I guess this would just be too much to ask. But it would be beautiful.

It's still possible, but the majority is going to be incredible slim no matter who ends up winning.

Absolute Assad margins out of Montgomery County for our local hometown guy Shapiro. 69.0-29.6.

Did we win the state house?

Sounds like it.

Blaming his wife for an endorsement he chose to make and double down on repeatedly is absolutely hilarious.

Nothing wrong with that. Approaching race calls with caution and not rushing to conclusions is a better practice.

This is so sad. Alexa, play D'Esposito.

If Republicans end up winning ~220 seats in the House, Brian Fitzpatrick and Don Bacon may become the House GOP's Manchin and Sinema. Less likely considering they are far more likely to toe the line than Manchinema are, but will be an interesting dynamic to watch.

Don’t forget Kean.

Two Lesbian Governors elected on the same day. Great work, Massachusetts and Oregon!

I really hope Democrats keep the house and win 51 seats

I think Biden and Schumer could get a deal out of Sinema, like they did with Manchin.

Promise her full party backing in 2024. In return, she’ll vote for a package that includes paid leave, child care, paid leave and public option (and any legislation sweeteners she wants) She has a tough primary. Even if she wins the primary it’ll be impossible to win in a super close swing state without 100% backing from your party.

Whatever it takes to get her on board. If she actually votes for a package that includes the things you mentioned, she should receive the party's backing.
