For the Philly FOP to endorse Shapiro over Mastriano is.... striking

OOF. Stick a fork in Mastriano if he can't even rely on the Philly FOP...

I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I could not be more excited for Governor Shapiro. As great as Wolf has been, Shapiro will be better.

Maybe some of you are like me and are worried about waking up on November 9th to a Mastriano win. It'll be like Trump 2.0. We won't have seen it coming.

The difference is that Trump actually ran a campaign focused around issues that drove people out, he had a ton of money, and his opponent was extremely unpopular with the electorate. Mastriano has none of that going for him. He definitely has the same relationship with his supporters--cultish and racist. That's why his signs are everywhere. The cult needs you to know they're in a cult. But the difference is that there likely is no silent Mastriano voter the way there was a silent Trump voter. It's extremely reassuring in that regard.

I'm more inclined to believe that there's a silent Oz voter--maybe someone who isn't full-blown MAGA but still buys that Fetterman is too far left. Oz has at least hit Fetterman on some of those red meat Republican issues like crime and "socialism". Oz is much likelier to win than Mastriano is at this point.

For obvious reasons, I don't feel comfortable calling this a safe D race yet (or probably ever) but I think the signs are looking good. PA Dems didn't get lucky here so much as the PA GOP went out of their way to field a bunch of lackluster candidates, back the most insane one, and are now getting their comeuppance.

Shapiro is absolutely a future Presidential candidate. People in the handshake line after the rally yesterday were telling him "Don't stop at Governor." He clearly has studied Obama and I would expect him to run in 2028.

Guy drops one good speech and suddenly he's future president material. Get a grip people, this kind of attitude led to the clown car 2020 primary.

He's been "dropping good speeches" for a while now. Just because you haven't been paying attention doesn't mean the people who have been paying attention are wrong.

Word on Twitter is that turnout for Mastriano will likely make the PA Gov result much tighter than polls indicate, especially if Oz appears to me moving out in front by a slightly larger lead.

Word from the guy yellin on the street corner is that Donkey Kong is about to win with 98% of the vote

heard the PA house has a chance to flip. Can anyone confirm?

I have also seen rumblings, but nowhere that I've seen has confirmed it.

Rhetorical question: Has Mastriano yet conceded? Or any reaction at all from him?

It is important to acknowledge that, with Shapiro's election, Austin Davis will become the first black Lieutenant Governor in Pennsylvania history.

EDIT: Wow, just watched Shapiro's victory speech and I'm so excited for this man to be my Governor. Hopefully someday, he'll be our President Smiley

Looks like we're currently in the lead, or poised to take the lead with final mail-in ballot counting, in 102 of the 203 PA State House seats.  A flip would mark the first time in 12 years that Dems have won the majority in the State House.

Nut.

Lame. The GOP controls all 3 row offices in PA now.

Where does it say that Henry is a Republican? She was Shapiro's deputy so even if she was, I don't really see an issue since she's not some Garrity-type dingbat

She was a Republican when she served as Bucks Co DA and she helped prosecute Kathleen Kane. Looking into her track record, she doesn't seem all that bad and Shapiro likely wouldn't have nominated her if, like you said, she was a loony. Still though, would've really liked to see Conor Lamb get the gig.
