MaxQue has the basic idea right. I've dated girls that were my best friends prior to dating, and I've dated girls whom I wouldn't even call much of an acquaintance at all. Again, you can read my thread I made and find that I'm no expert on girls at all, but to generalize about all women (and men too) is a bit unfair. Girls are a case-by-case basis and it's better to do what you feel is right and f--k up than follow some generalized preconception and be flat-out wrong.

But if you follow preconceptions and you're always right, then power to ya.

Not a bad thing at all, but I feel as though I'm finally starting to learn to live with my depression. It's been a long road and I'm really proud of myself for finding new ways to cope when I get sad instead of self harming.

Man, reading Cory's post really bummed me out, but it was also like reading something about myself. Sans the drinking problem, I feel almost the same exact way on every point. Cory, you might want to seek some help if you already haven't. It sounds like you're on a path to self-destruction--voluntary or not. There are ways to learn to cope with the issues that you have. Trust me, I've been slowly starting to cope with my unending inner torment and it's started to get better. Best of luck to you, man.
