I'm going with someone really irrelevant. Chuck Hagel, he's very popular in Nebraska, and is capable of bringing diverse groups to the ticket. And because he isn't so polarizing, moderates wouldn't be afraid to vote for the ticket!

I've had the feeling a long time that if Romney is nominated Jim DeMint would be his pick.

*Strong Conservative from the south, tea-party darling.
*Not as disliked as some other tea-partiers (Palin)
* Supported Romney in '08

Someone who's said that single mothers shouldn't be schoolteachers is unlikely to get very far on a national ticket.  Romney could find another conservative who doesn't have a history of making such politically radioactive comments.

R-R-R-Ron Paul 2012 anyone? As VP?
