It's really funny to see the amusing nonsense from Obama, especially given these facts.

http://www.commonwealthfoundation.org/policyblog/detail/pa-public-school-staff-grows-as-enrollment-declines

One of the drivers of higher spending is an increase in staff sizes while enrollment has declined. Data from the PA Department of Education indicates that from 1999-2000 to 2008-09 the state has seen a 12 percent increase in public school staff and a 1 percent decline in enrollment. Pennsylvania schools added 17,345 professional staff and 15,582 support staff over this time, while enrollment declined by 26,960.

Of course, now Obama is whining that Pennsylvania got rid of a mere 9000 teachers. Looks like they have a ways to go still.

The problem in this country isn't the number of teachers in schools, but the number of staff. Counselors and superintendents for every freaking club, sport, course, department, etc. We need to re-focus on the teaching in school, not the miscellaneous fluff. Our money should go to academic programs first, and extracurriculars second. I think it's great that some schools are charging students to play on a sports teams nowadays, that's the only way that we can start on the path to responsibility.

Don't really agree with this statement, but fewer cops is always a good thing.

As a future homicide detective might I ask why?

Well, I don't support reduction of your kind of cops. If anything there should be more homicide detectives. I support cuts in highway patrol, vice squads, and anything having to do with enforcement of non-sexual misdemeanors.

I agree, for every minor accident on the road there are five squad cars, 2 ambulances and a fire truck and I'm just talking about the fender benders...it's ridiculous...

...and don't even get me started on prison waste...

Far too many people are arrested in this country already for minor, frivolous and often made up crimes. Exactly why I don't support more cops.

You know than in some states (like Louisiana) local sheriffs receive $25 daily per temporary prisoner and $75 daily per sentenced prisoner. Now I think that this money goes to the local police department but it's nevertheless an incentive to arrest more people. Then there are private prisons...
