good news, right?  Car crashes take everybody, the young, the innocent, the smart.  I'm not saying drugs never take "good" people, clearly they do, and every one of them is a tragedy, but a lot of the others were tragedies long before they discovered drugs.  Tiny children die in car crashes by the thousands, tiny children never overdose on fentanyl.

Statistically speaking, the average car crash death is way more of a tragedy than the average drug overdose death, so this stat is a good thing.
i wish i was surprised by this

Dang, this is the first thing I've heard that makes me actually want to support Kamala Harris.

How Libertarian.

Using the state to oppress people you dislike. It’s the Libertarian way.

It's just an idiotic thing to do while you're in prison. The risk of infection or some other complication is high, and prison medical resources would have to be used to care for him if that were to happen. Having purely cosmetic surgery in prison is stupid. I'm glad Harris didn't bow to the nutjob wing of her party on this one.
Yep, plus, it can be abused by men who want access to women's prisons.

Tbis may be one of the worst posts in years.
disappointing thread in general

Oh great. The Hillary-izing of Kamala is continuing full speed ahead. How come we never have discussions about male politicians being authentic?

There's a reasoned argument to be against GRS/HRT for gender-dysphoric children.  Studies show that a majority of gender-dysphoric children do not become gender-dysphoric adults:  here, here and here.

Permanent, sterility-inducing drugs or surgery for transgender-presenting children is medically unethical, especially when a growing number of GD cases in adolescents indicate social contagion, peer influence, or previously-diagnosed psychiatric disorder as major contributing factors

My personal opinion is that we should be affirming children in the bodies they were born with, encourage traditional CBT, and accept cross-dressing or gender non-conforming activities as non-diagnostic of transgender identity.  To push a transgender identity onto children and adolescents enhances restrictive gender stereotypes and roles.

This is my concern as well. If portions of "trans liberation" are taken to their logical conclusion I could see us becoming some sort of Iranian like society where trans people are accepted and cis gay men murdered.
i can barely believe thats a real post
