It's certainly not gotten better since its compromise with Nidaa in later 2013. The apex of Ennahda's control over politics was in 2011, when it really was a party that united numerous marginalized classes: in the South, the interior, and in the cities of Sfax and Tunis. Due to a lack of policy moves when they were in government - and, most importantly, the pervasive threat of terrorism throughout the country since 2012 - they've lost credibility.

In the interior, their inaction towards economic development and terrorism drove voters to abstaining, with some votes bleeding to Nidaa. In Tunis, they've lost ground to other populist leaders like Slim Riahi. In the South, the flow of Tunisians joining ISIS is proof enough.

One good thing for Ennahda is that it is still the most cohesive party in Tunisia; Nidaa is fraying on the edges. There are reasons for the party to stay in it for the long run; they cannot afford to incite the police, and they can wait for Nidaa to fall apart without their leader Essebsi. But they won't be declaring Sharia in the country any time soon.
