It will, ostensibly over some nonsense in the Baltics or the South China sea but really over competition between American and Russian/Chinese gas firms coinciding with the decline of Middle Eastern oil. Think of the USA as Britain circa 1914, and China as Imperial Germany.

The American and Chinese economies are too entangled for this to make sense to either party right now.

So were the Germans and the English.
