Well if your Iowa home were located in the place depicted below, where would you want to spend your time?

I don't know, "Cumming Tap" sounds like it might be quite a happening place!

...a restaurant where you order off a touch pad - I think it'd be pretty cool. Is that bad of me? Because Mitt's being judged hard for having the same reaction.

The man's every reaction should be judged differently from yours, Tmth, because he isn't the same as you - the rich are different.  The fact that anyone would even consider voting for one shows what is wrong with america.

Actually to be fair I have never been to such a horrific place as a restaurant where you had to order off a computer screen - and I would certainly turn around and walk out of such a vile place if I did, but that doesn't change the fact that Romney's actions can only be judged in light of his overall life of crime.

Um, this thread is pretty disgusting. Roll Eyes

Not the OP, that's a perfectly legitimate criticism of the Jewish, fascist, Jew-state of 1$r@31 - Vermin, I applaud you for raising these issues.

No, I'm talking about Mikado's obscene but entirely predictable defense of the Zionist experiment -

I don't have a problem with Israel murdering Palestinians. In fact, I applaud it.

This is the kind of thing that makes people realise just how awful the Zionist influence on every part of our society truly is - oh, sorry, I forgot that's "anti-Semitic". Roll Eyes

Okay, look. It's no secret that the United States has been run by a secret cabal of international financiers, operating in the shadows, ever since Franklin Delano "Roosevelt" (Rosenfeld - look it up!) took office. The hideous crimes of these foreign agitators include the kidnapping of the Lindbergh Baby, the so-called Holocaust, the abolition of the gold standard, and the introduction of New Coke. Since the establishment of the Jew state 1$r@31, these insidious money-men have worked tirelessly, through their control of the mainstream media, to force their politician puppets to defend 1$r@31 against all odds. And of course, anyone who dares to call out these bankers is ignored, dismissed and vilified as an "anti-Semite".

The cabal has even started a rumor that the infamous, leaked Jewish document, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, is a "hoax". Well, you're all smart people. If it was a "hoax", why is it a book?? Roll Eyes

Good luck, Vermin Supreme. You won't find much sympathy from Zionist pawns like Mikado, but there are many of us out there, fighting.

Wake up people!!!!!!!

That was right before the Republican party truly spent their electoral majority. They were beginning to lose Catholics and Germans, the West was about to turn away from them in a big way and the McKinley/Roosevelt Democrats were itching to return to the fold. By 1912, Democrats hadn't won an election since 1892 and it was high time for a correction.

Today, Republicans aren't nearly as much of an "our party" as they were in 1912. There was a Republican in the White House less than four years ago. If Republicans don't broaden their base they could encounter the same fate as the Democrats in the 90s and 00s but they're not there yet. Ironically, this helps Roosevelt, as the memory of the last R president still looms large in the minds of voters. In 1912, people had moved past the Cleveland years. In 1936, the Hoover years are still fresh.
No not back then they were starting losing Catholics. The last 8 years is when they damaged themselves with the Catholic community with the 1928 Presidential Campaign. Then the Stock Market Crash came in 1929 I think? Then Roosevelt basically put the GOP in a corner with the Catholic community with his campaigning against Prohibition. Roosevelt did it because Massachusetts was a basically a tie with him and Hoover I believe. The GOP can't blame Roosevelt for the errors in courting the Catholic Vote because all they have is themselves to blame. They had years to warm over people pissed off at Wilson and they failed. Their rhetoric about immigrants is a no-no also. Harry M. Daugherty even told GOP politicians about the importance of the Catholic vote in the future and the GOP politicians just blew it off. Their fault nobody else's.

Not only did the GOP lose the West they gave the Dems every state west of Pennsylvania in 1932.
Wilson got like 65% of Catholics in 1916.
No but the Republicans started to make inroads with the Catholic vote with Harding/Coolidge in the first half of the 1920's
Fascinating.

I remember my first accidental gay date back in '64. Didn't notice the guy was a flamer, or that he took me out to a bar called the Jungle Snake. I didn't realize why he was rubbing against me until it was too late, and I was being ridden like one of those ponies on top of a bed. I thought he was just practicing for the rodeo. Took me a few whole years to realize that he had ass-f**ked me.

Whenever I hang out with my friends, I consider that a form of a gay date. So yes.

May that topic RIP.

NYJew - 1 Electoral Vote, 100% of the popular vote.
Snowstalker (deceased) - 0 Electoral Votes, 0% of the popular vote.

Shortly before the election is due to take place, incumbent President BRTD causes a nuclear apocalypse over a diplomatic snafu in which the Chinese premier misquoted some emoviolence lyrics. The entire species was annihilated in the ensuing global thermonuclear Armageddon, except for NYJew, who was in his lead-coated basement putting the finishing touches on a tinfoil yarmulke when the bombs started to fall, and escaped radiation poisoning. He voted and, being the only person in the world, won the election.

While technically winning New York's 29 electoral votes, he could only receive one as no-one else was alive to cast the other 28 Electoral College votes.

This is pretty much the only plausible scenario I could come up with for anyone voting for NYJew.

If anybody wonders why Britain is no longer a world superpower, please refer to comments of the NHS loving liberals/socialists in this thread.

Fixed.

Hmm, I just want to clarify, if I may, but are you inferring that the National Health Service was behind the end of the British Empire?

No, I am stating that NHS is one of the cornerstones of the post-WW II decline. Had Churchill won the election of '45, with Britain never embracing socialism afterward, I am quite confident Britain would be much better off today than it is. To what degree better off is ultimately unknown. I suspect Britain would still be comparable to the superpower it was in the 1910s, for example, albeit to a lesser degree for obvious reasons.

If Britain hadn't adopted the NHS, it would still be a superpower. Too hilarious to be merely absurd.

Oh, wow. They even manage to tie in unrelated political comments that she made on DailyKos almost eight years ago!

Take note of that, you youngins amassing thousands of posts here that want to run for office someday. I assure you, unless you're as secretive about your identity as, like, Mikado, your opponents will probably connect it to you. (And you can't just delete it either because caches are totally a thing!)

The people here will be saved when Dave finally pulls the plug on the forum to save server money for the rest of the site one day (no one's going to go through archive.org and navigating through dozens of missing pages to try to find a quote they don't even know exists).

Yeah, I think President Snowstalker or whoever will catch a break when Dave decides to get rid of the old shame that is the forum part of the Atlas in 2017, removing all the pony posts from the internet forever.

Facebook's another story, though.
