Is this book serious or satire?

Definitely satire--either a right-wing Chuck Tingle doing a hamfisted satire on the left or a left-wing Chuck Tingle doing a hamfisted satire on right-wing perceptions of the left.

It is unintentional.

The uneducated housewives who write those sorts of books--along with the consumers--have zero concept of irony and satire. 

My "uneducated housewife" aunt is one of the funniest people I've ever met.
