It is not. The appropriate sentence in cases such as this, especially since it seems that his guilt is beyond all doubt and he showed no remorse, is death. Prisons should be centers for rehabilitation, not places where the unrehabilitatable, like this man, are sent to waste away with no clear benefit of any sort for society.

Oh, believe me, it's really straining my principles to oppose the death penalty in this case. I still do, but it's a strain.
