Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

I understood that that wasn't what you intended, because I know you well enough, but yeah, that's what it means in English.

Anyway, I'm by instinct inclined to support Hanabusa for various reasons, but Schatz is a better candidate by most objective measurements, so I probably won't get too invested in this.

Inouye is not a god.

I am a Schatz supporter. Hanabusa reminds me of Ro Khanna in California, believing that she is entitled to the seat. Schatz has more potential than Hanabusa ever will.

This whole race is gonna be full of some really bad race baiting.. I really shiver to think how nasty it will get in regards to nativist appeals.

Hanabusa is a member of the largest racial group and second-largest ethnic group in Hawaii and was born in Waianae. I don't think that would work on either side.

If you believe that Jesus is in any position to tell you what to do, generally--I don't want to say universally, but generally--you also believe that He's very much alive.

The seat doesn't belong to Schatz either. God forbid he actually face ONE competitive election to prove himself before having the seat for life (the main election in a Hawaii Senate race is obviously the Democratic primary).

Schatz isn't any more entitled to the seat than Hanabusa is. If he wins, then good. He earned it. But stop acting like Hanabusa shouldn't even run.

I just don't see a good reason why she should run; she isn't running on policy, personality, or scandal, so what reason does she have for running? I hate to rehash this argument again, but honestly, what is she running on? "Leadership"? That's no reason to run. At least if she specifically pointed out that having an governor's appointee go unchallenged is bad, that'd be a reason (and a great reason at that).

I think she is, to an extent, running on personality.

Yeah, there was a time when I liked Hanabusa and thought that Inouye's trust in her must communicate something positive, but that was a year ago.

Hanabusa is a horrible bitch. Hopefully, Schatz defeats that c*nt.

Well, you're a charmer.
