Yeah, I don't think the equivalency works here, except with the last bit, which is indeed pretty much what Akin said.

The analogy was rape; not having a child. See the bit about 'you there with the sunglasses you were asking for it.'

It works very well as a rape analogy but not as a pregnancy analogy and it seemed to me as if it was trying to be both at once, particularly in the initial post, before the reblogs.

Some people genuinely do see pregnancy and childbearing as a horrible and unwanted burden, though.  Not exactly the same way as drowning, obviously, but in the same general area of life-changing-for-the-worse experiences.

Fair point. It's a little hard for me to understand that mindset, being from a large Italian/Irish/Jewish family, but definitely a fair point.
