Title is misleading as a decent number of complaints are anti-trans and not anti-gay. This is just another example of why "LGBT" is a bad way of referring to people, as it others not only the gay community but the trans community as well.

Very few still care that my hypothetical kid would have two fathers but a lot of people would care if I started changing his gender when he was six. I mean, I'm never having children but anyone with half a brain sees the two have nothing to do with the other.

LGBT people make up only 4.5% of Americans, so I don't see why couples of that sort need to be "normalized" at all.

Imagine somebody making this argument about other small-ish minority groups--Jews, Muslims, atheists, Asian-Americans, etc. They'd be laughed out of serious discussion.

Those are races and religions though.

I don't see the difference. If anything religion is the odd man out. You have a choice about that.

Why are you reading "nationalism" and interpreting that as "cis hetero white nationalism"? Can't a gay trans Pakistani-American be a nationalist?

Right Wing Nationalism is inherently anti LGBT. Just look at Hungary.

America isn't going to follow the eastern European regression on these issues. We're gonna go the Germany/Holland/UK route where even the right wing populists will be pro gay rights.
