And John Kerry was going to sweep Colorado because he was born there.
John Kerry's father wasn't governor of Colorado.

How many people currently living in Michigan know that Romney's father was once governor?
A lot more than remember John Kerry's father and mother in Colorado.  He was governor 20 years later, Colorado has had more growth, and Romney would also be remembered for being president of AMC and being a presidential candidate.

Did the memory of Senator Prescott Bush help his grandson swing Connecticut?
Romney was governor until 1969 and lived until 1995.  Sen. Prescott Bush was senator until 1962 and died in 1972.  Romney was a candidate for President and was on the cover of Time magazine when he was President of AMC.
