Our new Constitution, which appears on its way to ratification, does specify that a Gubenatorial election is supposed to be held concurrently with the ratification vote.  The problem is we have not had enough time for any candidates to declare or for us to go through a proper process.  I recommend holding off the election for a period of one week, until next weekend.  The election for this office shall begin within 12 hours after midnight, Central time, on Friday, June 25, 2004.

If you intend to run for the office of Governor of the Southeastern region under the new Constitution, please state your intention in this thread.

Any candidate shall be listed on the ballot with their registered partisan afiliation.  If another party wishes to add their endorsement to an already-filed candidate, an official agent of the Party may file an intention of endorsement and the affiliation will be added as a secondary partisan designation for the candidate.  No Party endorsement shall be construed as a filing for a candidate if the candidate has not already filed.

Filings for Governor or official partisan endorsements may occur up until 11:59pm on Thursday night, June 24, 2004.

Ernest,

This election is fully qualified under AF Constitution Article IV.

"Members from within their regions shall have total control of how Gubernatorial elections shall be administered within their own regions."

"Regions may also create other positions within their own regions, and may set their election rules however they wish."

That having been said, I see no reason to disqualify your candidacy and will add your name to the official ballot.  The ballot as it now stands:

Ernest (MDP)
Htmldon (UAC, SRP)

Candidates and Official Party agents have approximately one hour left to declare.

I will open up an election thread and voting shall begin at Midnight.
