Doubtless. Cuomo would have to produce his birth certificate to prove he wasn't born in Sicily.

Dukakis was also an "ethnic" candidate and son of immigrants, but there are too few Greek Americans and there doesn't seem to be really be a Greek stereotype.

Irish Americans really aren't that "ethnic."  They've been in the US longer, came from the British Isles and spoke English. And you don't need to cast Irish American actors to play Irish American characters as in the case with Italian actors and characters, any generic white American (or even Brit who can do a good American accent) will do. 

With the exception of James Caan, honorary dego, and the amazing David Proval.
