Old school republican means republican before tea party and trump took it over
-Nobody's gonna understand that. For all we know, "old school" may just mean pre-Reagan, since it was Reagan who was the transformational figure so celebrated by the party today, and was key to turning the party into its current state.
Heck, it may mean a lily-white, anti-immigrant teetotaller of Northern European ancestry who favors an industrial economy and moral purity. In another usage, one could take all the "liberal" positions at one point held by the GOP and stitch it into some caricature of a contemporary center-leftist while billing themselves as "old school GOP". Pointless label, and the whole "fiscally conservative, socially liberal" tag is itself a worn out trope, especially as it pertains to claiming to be a "real Republican".
