Of course. Belief in one's moral superiority is one of the near-essential qualities of the self. A lot of people create a connection in their head that claims that what they do is right since they like doing it and thinking of oneself as wrong is unpleasant. It allows people to get away with a lot of terrible things through the mere fact that they felt like doing them. It's absurd.
