One day. Henry Clay, after an incredibly bitter stand-off with the "Union Republicans" and northern members of his own party, withdrew his name from contention in the House of Representatives. However, he refused to explicitly endorse Adams. Meanwhile, in the Senate, Thomas Morris was elected Vice President over Daniel Webster. That leaves Adams and Tyler the last contenders in this election, as only one may be elected President of the United States.

One day.

...And it appears John Quincy Adams has been elected to a third term, which, should he complete it, he would have a presidency totaling four terms, making him the longest serving president in the young nation's history.
