Some people care to much.

Honestly, you'd think that this forum was ancient Rome 44 BC, in the aftermath of Gaius Julius Caesar's (Opebo) brutal death at the hands of his Senatorial colleagues (the moderators).

(Sorry for the bullsh**t analogy, but I thought I throw one in since other people seem to be doing it Wink)

Perhaps a better analogy would be Jerusalem circa 30 CE.

I am as guilty as anyone here of making Christ analogues. That said, I beseech you to never even hint that you'd compare opebo to Jesus in the next million years.

But Snowstalker isn't Catholic. He just constantly extols its superiority for...reasons that I have yet to really hear, even though the Church of England is far more liberal than the Catholic Church and thus closer to his views.

It's because I find the liberal Protestant circlejerk on this forum (particularly your "hipster Christianity") annoying and feel the need to toy with it

Right, because what we need is more jmfcst Christcons like on every other forum. Roll Eyes

That's exactly what we need. The Religion board consist almost entirely of liberal Protestants and Dawkinsite atheists.

This is true.

It is unbelievable that colleges across the country, even those in "liberal" states, allow these openly segregationist organizations to exist.

Very absurd.

HP. He's an NRA member and hunter who represents a district that went to Obama with about 2/3rds of the vote in 2012 and is terribly trying to get people to believe he's evolving on same-sex marriage now.

And apparently, this has been a Dingell seat in Congress since 1932, the FDR era. Dingell only even won it because his father died and simply took advantage of the situation, so he's literally trying to form a hierarchy with Debbie. We can't let him and he's far overextended his stay, yet says after 58 years in Congress, "I don't want people to say I stayed too long." I'll be so glad to see this guy gone and see a real Michiganite become Dean in John Conyers.

Bolded the most delusional aspect of this post, but it's also terrible for the fact that it completely ignores Dingell's long history of fighting for socialized medicine and standing as an ally of organized labor because he supported the right to self defense and was a member of an organization that believed in armed self defense.
You have to understand though that I'm one of the most anti-gun members of the forum and don't like gun owners let alone hunters at all. Heck, I've even openly supported the DC Firearms Control Regulations Act, so don't find my dislike for an NRA Democrat shocking.

And jeez, can anybody openly express their views against marijuana without it landing in Deluge?

For point A) Whether or not one is surprised by one's views does, in theory, not detract from their perceived absurdity. Regarding point B) There are certain establishment beliefs this forum has. Among them is in the legalization of marijuana. When a Democrat of all people opposes it, the jackals that make up this forum's commentators will pounce.

Do you find some intrinsic evil in owning a gun? Curious as to if and why.

Also, Snowstalker, when it comes to homophobic policies in less well-off countries, how is one on the left supposed to react? "Oh, good, let's appreciate culture"? It seems funny that you, who, last I checked, was both anti-Israel and anti-Islam (or however you term it) is now calling people critical of other perceived third world atrocities racist.

(I'll be honest, I have little idea if all of what you posted relates to homophobia in Africa or not, but I think my point still stands)

Does it sound like I do? Sorry. My question is largely how you balance Snowstalker's purported beliefs with being "not racist".

Oakvale, I hope I didn't imply that such a belief was wrong, but merely that dissent wasn't tolerated. The jackals are, of course, correct. And yes, Adam's posts reek of ignorance (and weed).

It did a bit. You have a reputation to maintain after all.

I try to properly layer my posts with words like "perceived", "purported", and "alleged" so as to properly detach oneself from the subject at hand. It clearly isn't working. I will try harder.

How do you purport to know what a person, political or otherwise, feels deep down?

Glad to see you support the collapse of civil society. Wouldn't be surprised to find you approving of stealing or arson.

Someone with your sig is quoting a post about the collapse of a civil society? Oh the irony.

Quite frankly, the only thing I see "absurd" here is the fact that this gentleman chose to post my writing in the Deluge.
