(though in today's world, foreign policy doesn't really count)
Says the man trying to get himself appointed "Ambassador"?
Not trying, succeeding.
I'm talking in terms of political affiliation. We've seen Democrats be almost as willing to go to war or use force overseas as Republicans, and we've seen Republicans sometimes oppose some of Obama's foreign intervention. In the past, internationalism, intervention, non-intervention, and isolationism trade places in parties over the years. Take the days right before the second World War. Yet, don't people like Bob Taft and Arthur Vandenberg count as conservatives just as much as say, Ronald Reagan?
I'm saying it doesn't bear much weight in terms of where you are, politically.
