That does sound ridiculous. If you're resorting to a coin toss to decide, it would be better if you just didn't vote. When all else fails...just stay home.
It's a psychological thing. There has been so much crap about this election over the past 2 years that people want to feel like they are participating, even if they don't particularly care for either of the two choices. Just think, this coin toss is probably the best day of this woman's life: she's got her 15 minutes of fame.
