Unless there is a super duper long serving blue dog democrat in a heavily republican district that has been supporting republican positions for years and just never got around to switching parties, I can't see one teaming up with McCain as a VP.  Joe-mentum is still a democrat (Mitty, you need to correct your initial post), so he won't sign up as a VP on a Republican ticket.  If McCain was running as an Independent, then maybe the two could have teamed together.

Besides, McCain will probably lose a third of the RNC support to a conservative independent candidate in protest if he were to tap a democrat.
