He really should just not run in 2006, that would be better.
Is he in that bad of shape Andrew? He may be down in early polls but 2006 is a long way off.
Pataki hasn't been doing well for awhile now. He did win in 02 by a large margin, but right after that things started going downhill for him fast. When in early 03 the state was in a financial crisis or whatever the hell he said, but 3 months earlier when he was running for re-election things were in 'real good shape'. Its probably been almost 2 years since his approval was above 50 (maybe a poll here or there had him above 50, but Pataki has been in the 40's in virtually every poll for about 2 years now
