The Libertarian Party has a handful of easily-met requirements to list Presidential candidates on their website, including that the candidate has filed with the FEC. Fortunately for Perry, they've given him an exception, because after all, the FEC "lacks constitutional authority."

It just occurred to me that one of our weirdest posters is a middle tier candidate for America's third largest party. Let that sink in.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he got second place in the voting. The LP has a sizable purist faction that doesn't care about things like experience, and they seem to like him. Influential LP activist Tom Knapp has him as his favorite candidate (second to NOTA). Ian Freeman and Starchild (names that you'd know if you spent much time in LP circles) also endorse Perry.

NICE! They actually have all four of the Libertarian candidates I would consider the top four, especially now that Kerbel dropped out. My results are also identical to my personal ranking of them. I get a 95% match to DW Perry... admittedly, there may have been more separation if they had asked questions like, "Should the United States be abolished?"

Incidentally, Perry is currently tied with Gary Johnson for most Libertarian Presidential debates attended at 6. He's debated in Massachusetts, Mississippi, Virginia, on Google Hangouts, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. The most recent, Pennsylvania, featured Perry alongside Governor Johnson, Doctor Feldman, and Crazy Reid. It had an "applause straw poll" at the end, which reports say went: Perry > Johnson > Feldman > Reid.

Guys after three attempts I finally got DW Perry to make a statement on Twitter over his position and usage of crystal meth. Should I drop the bombshell Southern Patriot link now or hold off until I attend the LNC this May where I can hand out fliers with his posts.

#NeverPerry

OK, I admit it would be pretty funny if fliers went around the Libertarian National Convention with this on them:

I would do naughty things with Ann Coulter.

Honestly, this may be the most damaging quote to put on a flier at an LP convention:

It depends on who I'm an Elector for and who the other candidates are.
Hell, I'd cast my ballot for an Independent/3rd Party for free, just to have the election thrown to the House.

In 2004 I was a PA Elector for the Libertarian Party, had the LP won the State I would have cast my ballot For Peroutka instead of Badnarik.

Other fun ones include calling Abraham Lincoln a terrorist:

And claiming that he never wears a seat belt:
I would love to find out how much money insurance companies & car seat manufacturers gave to lobby States to pass laws requiring the use of car seats for children. After all, what better way to make money than to get the gov't to mandate people buy your product.

BTW, I only wear my seatbelt in a rental car, and that's only because I get the ones that beep if you don't wear it.

Peterson is the favorite of the ex-Cruz #NeverTrump folks, the most annoying of the cuck movement. The ones who always bitch and moan about the "TRUH CONSERVATUVES." Johnson has the support of the more moderate libertarians and Republicans. It's McAfee and Perry who seem to be the favorites of the hardliners in the Libertarian Party, and if they unite around one or the other, will probably be the bigger threat to Johnson.

The IPR poll actually told us a lot despite its small sample size and obvious radical bias. The interesting data isn't the percentages of support for each candidate, because we know a disproportionate number of radicals read IPR. The interesting things are the delegate:non-delegate ratio of candidates, as well as the second choices of candidate supporters. We learned:
  • Petersen supporters are not likely to be delegates. So his victories in online polls don't mean much. Expect him to underperform at the convention.
  • Perry supporters are very likely to be delegates. Expect him to overperform at the convention.
  • Petersen supporters transfer their support mainly to Johnson.
  • McAfee supporters scatter, slightly more to Johnson than anybody.
  • Perry supporters prefer McAfee to Johnson.

So, the only candidate other than Johnson who could benefit from multiple ballots is McAfee, who could possibly gain Perry voters. To win, McAfee will need a ballot like: McAfee 40%, Johnson 30%, Perry 20%, Petersen 10%. It's not likely. But it is an interesting possibility that the convention could come down to McAfee begging Perry for an endorsement.

For Perry to win, he'll need to come very close to 50% on the first ballot, because supporters of all of his major opponents prefer Johnson to him.

Did anybody here do this?

User "peaceerror" certainly asked a question we didn't need to know the answer to.

It's scary to think that Perry is now a genuine frontrunner for the LP nomination/VP slot in 2020, or even worse, LNC Chair.

Probably not the presidential nomination, read this (I promise it isn't the penis link again): https://www.reddit.com/r/DarrylWPerry/comments/4hwqxy/ama_may_21/d3e7w1l

I'm surprised anyone could feel comfortable leaving their daughter alone in a room with someone who looks like a compulsive sex offender*

(*he was endorsed by The Libertarian Party Sex Caucus. I'm not googling it, but I'm already creeped out)

Don't worry, he's pro-family, remember?

And while we're on the subject of blasts from the past... here's an interesting old video.

But let's not dwell too much on what's behind us. 2016 isn't over yet!
