Moore would lose again. The thing that cannot be overlooked is that a not so small portion of Republican voters in the state are suburbanites or educated. Those are the people Jones won over in the special and ones that he could win again over Moore. Looking at the gubernatorial last year, Maddox carried Jefferson County by 18% which was the second biggest margin for Democrat in recent history next to Jones' punishing 68%.

Plenty of Moore's supporters believe that he was falsely accused for political reasons and they will show up to support him in the primary and in the runoff should he make it. The ability to play the victim of the establishment and the media is a major plus in a Republican primary. Besides, it's not like his Republican opponents are going to attack him for on the accusations.
