He can do what he wants. With that said, I doubt the incumbent will lose.

Omaha is not the whole of Nebraska, so I don't think a Democrat needs to be pro-life in order to win the Mayor's race, since it is a local race and abortion is not really decided in at that level. At the same time, I don't think being socially conservative, but left-wing on ecomonic issues is a recipe for a win in every area and on higher levels of government.
